1. About this policy
Artidium develops business software, including Artidium POS, an Android point-of-sale and business management application. This policy explains the information we may process through Artidium POS, why we process it, how it is stored and shared, and how you can request deletion.
Artidium is responsible for personal information it uses to operate accounts and provide its services. Businesses that enter information about customers, suppliers or staff are responsible for having an appropriate basis to collect and use it. Artidium processes those records to provide the application's functionality.
2. Information we may process
Information processed depends on the features you use and the records you or your business enter.
- Account information: user name, email address, Firebase Authentication UID / Artidium User ID, and account creation information such as registration date and account status.
- Business information: business names, contact details, settings and other information you provide.
- Products and stock: products, categories, prices, inventory quantities and stock records.
- People and contacts: customers, suppliers and employees/staff, including contact details and access information where entered.
- Operational records: sales and transaction records, expenses, refunds, cash-up/till information and reports.
- Subscriptions and trials: status, entitlement information, relevant dates and purchase identifiers needed to verify subscriptions and manage access.
- Limited device/app diagnostics: app version, Android version, device details and error information needed to troubleshoot problems, maintain reliability and protect the service.
- Support communications: information you send when contacting us, including details needed to investigate issues or verify requests.
Camera and barcode scanning
Artidium POS may request camera permission for barcode scanning when you choose that feature. You can grant or revoke this permission in Android settings. Denying permission may prevent camera-based scanning. The camera is not used for advertising or tracking.
Staff PINs
Staff PINs are used for POS access control and are stored securely. Businesses should keep PINs confidential, assign access appropriately and remove staff access when no longer needed.
3. How we use information
- Create, authenticate and manage accounts.
- Provide point-of-sale and business management features, including products, inventory, transactions and reports.
- Store and retrieve records and support cloud functionality where used.
- Manage subscription and trial access and verify purchase entitlements.
- Respond to support enquiries and account/data deletion requests.
- Maintain reliability, troubleshoot errors, prevent misuse and protect accounts and records.
- Meet applicable legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing is based on providing the service, complying with legal obligations, legitimate interests such as security and reliability, or consent where required. Contact us for information about the basis applicable to your circumstances.
4. Storage and security
Some POS data is stored locally on your device. Cloud data may be stored using Google Firebase. Local and cloud storage depend on the features and configuration you use. Removing the app or clearing its storage can remove local records without removing cloud data.
We use safeguards intended to protect personal information and restrict access to authorised users and service providers. Staff PINs are stored securely for access control. No storage or transmission method guarantees absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your device, sign-in credentials and staff access.
Google services may process information in countries other than your own. Applicable protections depend on the services and locations involved. Contact us for more information about the handling of your data.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain account and business information as needed to provide the service and for the purposes described here. Retention depends on the information, account use, deletion requests and applicable legal or security requirements.
Subscription cancellation or expiry does not automatically delete business data. Canceling a Google Play subscription is separate from deleting your Artidium account. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete an account or its cloud records.
You can delete your Artidium account directly within the Artidium POS application. You may also request account and associated cloud data deletion by emailing support@artidium.com. See our Delete Account page for the email request process and retention exceptions.
Deleting your Artidium account does not cancel or end your Google Play subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through Google Play to stop future subscription renewals. Manage or cancel it in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Artidium POS, or visit Google Play subscriptions.
Limited records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, security or dispute-resolution requirements. Retained information is limited to what is necessary. We explain relevant exceptions and expected retention when handling requests. Backup copies, where present, may remain until removed through the backup lifecycle and are not used for normal business operations.
7. Your choices and rights
You can manage permissions in Android settings and subscriptions through Google Play. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to the relevant privacy regulator.
Contact support@artidium.com to make a request. We may verify your identity and authority over business records. Do not send passwords, staff PINs or full payment card details.
If your information was entered by a business using Artidium POS, contact that business about its records. You can also contact Artidium for help identifying the appropriate process.
8. Business use and children
Artidium POS is intended for business use and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through their own use of the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Website, updates and contact
This website does not use analytics, advertising, tracking scripts or cookies. The hosting provider may process basic technical request information needed to deliver and secure the website.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app, our practices or applicable requirements. We will publish the revised policy here with an updated effective date and provide additional notice where required.
